NERO Hartford Announcements January 11, 2010

2010 Rate Increase

Please note that due to rising insurance obligations and costs, our 2010 event fees are all being increased by $5.00 per person per event.

The Paypal links for the 2010 event rates should be up by 1/15/2010. In the meantime, please go to http://www.nerohartford.com/events.html to pre-register for the event.

Please register as soon as possible. We have a fixed number of beds available for PCs and NPCs for any given weekend event. In the event that we reach maximum camp capacity, we will not be able to allow unpaid (at the door) registrations. If necessary we are prepared to establish a waitlist, but the best way to make sure you get a bed for the event is to pre-register and pre-pay.

Please be advised that if you have character or plot goals you wish to bring to Plot’s attention in time for any particular event, this information must be submitted no later 3 weeks before the event, so Plot can have time to review your submission. As always, there is no guarantee that Plot can address everyone’s wishes at the very next event. While we certainly don’t expect lengthy documentation, even a brief note describing your character’s short and long-term goals would be MOST welcome. These submissions should be made either by including them in the Notes Section of the pre-registration form, or by sending an e-mail directly to plot@nerohartford.com.

In addition, if your character has a Transform, the details thereof must be provided to Plot no later than 2 weeks before the event, by e-mailing them to plot@nerohartford.com.

As always, the event fees include all meals. We are pleased to welcome back Sean Stewart as our event chef. Please note: if you have any food allergies and/or restrictions, please let us know as soon as possible at owners@nerohartford.com so we can communicate the same to Chef Sean, so he can accommodate your needs.

We look forward to seeing you this Season!

NERO Hartford is here to stay.

Here are some facts to counter the NERO rumor-mill which has been in high gear since we were forced to cancel our 2009 Memorial Day Event due to extremely low pre-registrations from both PCs and NPCs.

NERO Hartford is NOT shutting down, nor is it facing any change of ownership. A series of unfortunate life experiences happened for the Chapter’s principal and this led to a period of limited communications following the event cancellation. Our sincere regrets to any and all that these circumstances inconvenienced in any way. Believe us, we would MUCH rather have had that event! This will no longer be an issue, and is one of the main reasons Jonathan Hauff has joined our Staff. Please feel free to contact us at businessmgr@nerohartford.com orjhauff@nerohartford.com if you have any questions.

We will run a Winter Faire Day [modules throughout the day followed by an IG Feast], and will then resume running a full schedule for our 2010 Season, which will begin the weekend of April 9-11, 2010.

As players pre-register for any event, we will be in touch with each of you individually to confirm that we have received the registration and answer any questions you may have.

We are also looking for volunteers to join our NPC crew and our Staff. Please see below for more details.

Thank you for your continued support.

Packets “Go Green”

Since we initiated our "Go Green" initiative for packets in 2008, as set forth below, we have been pleased to note the understanding and adherence to the policy by our players. NERO Hartford is looking for packet donations. We are offering the following special offer for the upcoming event [3/6/10]:

For packets marked NPC: 2 packets = 1 Goblin Point

For unmarked packets: 4 packets = 1 Goblin Point

Please remember that all spell packets and arrow packets must be in Natural Colors such as browns and greens, and made of all natural fibers.

Please note that Camp Cedarcrest has asked that we "Go Green" with our packets. As was announced and implemented last Season [2008], all packets brought on site and/or donated must be made with natural fabrics and other than  orange for gas globes, spell packets must also be in natural colors, such as browns and greens.

Call for NPCs and Staff

We, the NERO Hartford Staff are always looking for regular NPCs and staff members. We know that many of you would like to play more NERO, but due to the economic climate, it just isn't in the cards. We are looking at some other solutions to the shortage of NPCs, some of which are not too pretty (such as a mandatory NPC shift!), so please, if you know someone who is not playing to save money, or are doing so yourself, please consider NPCing a few events or for an entire season.

Don't deprive yourself of the game! NPC for NERO Hartford events and earn your blankets while honing your skills and beating up your friends.

Remember: NPC's and Staff participate for FREE, other than maintaining a current NERO Membership. As always, NPCs eat for free. The free meals include the following: Late Night Friday; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner and Late Night Saturday; Breakfast Sunday. Hot and cold beverages are available all weekend.

So, if you are interested in NPCing for, or joining the Staff of, NERO Hartford, please pre-register for events at http://www.nerohartford.com/events.html, and contact us as set forth below.

Please remember that we need to have an early NPC and Staff headcount in order to reserve the necessary beds and make sure we have enough food for the event, so please pre-register early.

If you have any questions, please contact us at owners@nerohartford.com, jhauff@nerohartford.com, monstermaster@nerohartford.com  and plot@nerohartford.com.
